Illustration is used for a wide range of purposes including communication design, web design, packaging, editorial and fashion design. This course is suitable for anyone considering illustration as a future profession or who just wants to expand their possibilities as a designer by adding illustration skills. Your guide will be Sasha Chagina (chagina.myportfolio.com) - an illustrator working on commissions for packaging and advertising design companies as well as individual clients.
In just three weeks you will create a set of illustrations, from rough sketches to coloured and ready-to-use digital artworks. You will work in response to a real client brief, get expertise and advice from people in industry, and receive client feedback on your work, helping you to define areas for further development.
You will walk away from this course with a solid basis of practical tools for your further illustration skills development, an overview of specifics of work as an illustrator as well as a piece of work for inclusion in your portfolio.
You don’t need to know how to draw to enter this course; all levels of ability are welcome.
The teaching spaces are equipped with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe inDesign, as well as graphic tablets for illustrating. Personal laptops are welcome if they already have the software needed. A list of additional materials such as sketchbook, markers, etc will be clarified before the course starts.
