School of Art & Design
At Prague College we believe in the creative power of teaching and learning. In our School of Art & Design, that means
- innovative thinking and ideas
- continuous feedback, not just grades
- a focus on experimental media, not just traditional disciplines
- learning by experience, by introducing practitioners directly into the classroom
We know that our art students enjoy working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, sharing and swapping ideas with budding designers, computer programmers, and businesspeople.
At Prague College we take creativity to its logical conclusion: creating our own special kind of graduates - curious, questioning, connected, flexible, and passionate about what they do.
As well as our full-time and part-time faculty, our Visiting Artist and Lecturer series provides students with the opportunity to learn from artists and professionals from around the world.
Workshop and lecture-based activities provide students with valuable supplemental instruction from a variety of contemporary artists and design practitioners, as they offer insight and practical experience into different disciplines within the field of art and design.
The full time BA (Hons) Graphic Design programme is a practical, studio-based degree programme designed to make students well-rounded professional communicators, with an enquiring approach and established design process.
The BA (Hons) Fine Art programme in experimental and interactive media allows students the opportunity to master a wide range of digital media, including advanced animation techniques, digital video, web and sound production.
The MA programme in Future Design is open to graduates, practising designers, and mid-career professionals. It is tailored to students working individually and in small groups, and is particularly well suited for designers committed to long term exploration of negotiated self- and client-generated ideas and projects complemented by ongoing critical and theoretical investigation.
The MA in Fine Art is a flagship programme for the School of Art and Design at Prague College. It is a two-year programme, suitable also for working students, designed to refine and develop practical and theoretical skills that are relevant to both inter- and transdisciplinary research in the arts, as well as exploration within individual artistic disciplines.
Dimitris Blako, BA (Hons) Graphic Design
Prague College is not just about practical programmes, but also how much they help you with life skills. I'd always recommend it as a great place to get inspiration - from teachers and from other students, too.
