Gergana Stankova (formerly Dukova) has been working at DDB Sofia for the past three years, having completed a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Prague College.
Before she came to Prague she had graduated from Bulgaria's state university. There, she says, she was an average student, drifting through her studies and doing little more than the bare minimum simply because her major (English and American Studies) never really appealed to her; and the system - huge groups of over 150 students - made it all so impersonal. She found Prague College online and deciding to give it a go was one of the best decisions she ever made.
Prague College didn't just change my professional path,' says Gergana, 'it showed me that studying (and by extension - working) can, in fact, be fun. So long as you have chosen the right major and you have the right tutors to guide you through it. My best memory of the college is the atmosphere - kind staff, smiling diverse faces.'
Last year Gergana started her own brand of accessories. The first collection, albeit very small, sold out in less than a month, which gave her hope that this brand can not only survive, but thrive. She hopes to make a sustainable business out of it one day.
