I found the college two years ago when I was looking for an alternative to my previous education at a state university. That university gave me great theoretical knowledge, but how much does theory help once you go out in the real world?
I knew I was looking for a different academic environment and I was very excited to come across the Prague College web site. The program the college offered in Graphic Design was very practically oriented and appealed to me right away.
Over the two-year course of studies my classmates and I learned a lot about professional design software and major areas of design such as typography, desktop publishing, corporate identity and image manipulation. We had various projects and the opportunity to put our knowledge to practice by working with real clients.
The experience I gained over the past two years was both useful and enjoyable. Towards the end of our studies my fellow students and I all got jobs, and that was definitely the greatest benefit I can expect from higher education.
