Prague College hosts European Integration study programme

by Alex Went, on 17 July 2015 12:58:56 CEST

In the context of the current economic and political challenges to the Eurozone and even the very fabric of the EU, there is no better time to be discussing the topic of European Integration. From 1 to 29 July 2015 Prague College is taking a lead in this very important area by hosting a twelve-day learning programme focused on this topic.

The programme is entitled “Challenges for Europe – regional integration in a fragmented world”, and is being held under the auspices of the think-tank Europeum from 18 to 29 July at Prague College. Prague College lecturers Stefano Cavagnetto and Bruce Gahir from the School of Business will speak on 'Banking Union and Financial Regulation', 'Austerity and Recovery in the EU', and 'Ethical Frameworks in Banking and Finance in Europe'; and presentations will be made by other partner institutions including Charles University.

Previous Europeum conferences also held at Prague College (like the one in 2013, pictured), have covered areas of interest such as the Federalization of the EU and the position of Central European countries in the EU following accession.

The Europeum Institute for European Policy is a non-profit, non-partisan, and independent think-tank focusing on European integration. Central to its vision are democracy, security, stability, freedom, and solidarity across Europe, as well as the active engagement of the Czech Republic in the European Union. Europeum undertakes research, publishing, and educational activities and formulates new ideas and opinions concerned with the EU and Czech policy making.

We look forward to welcoming all our visitors to this year's stimulating programme of events.
