Visiting Artist Lecture: Osamu Okamura - Art in the City

Our second VALS lecture for 2020 features Osamu Okamura, an architect and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec who will discuss the importance of art in public spaces.

As chair of the Commission for Public Art of the City of Prague Council and curator of the Shared Cites: Creative Momentum project, a member of the Board of Directors of the Czech Architecture Foundation, and a member of the Commission for Urban Planning, Architecture and Public Space of Prague 7 District Council, Osamu is well respected and an experienced professional in town planning and the development of public space.

Osamu will discuss art, architecture and public space, as well as his inspirations, tools and intentions and his experience working in Prague's many varied spaces.

This is a not-to-be missed opportunity for anyone interested in Architecture, art and the motivations behind displaying public art in the city.
