The Master Speaker Series was founded in April 2010 as a regular event presented by Prague College's Centre for Research and Interdisciplinary Studies, drawing on experts in the fields of business, technology, design, culture and politics from all over the world.
In 2014, the series continues to bring together the interests of all our specific subject areas in the context of wide-ranging and broad academic enquiry, as well as providing students with opportunities for interaction and exposure by integrating high level speakers from around the world into their academic and professional dialogue.
Through the Master Speaker Series, students have the opportunity to engage with key thinkers who can offer inspiration and motivation for their dissertations or even their future careers. Past speakers have included legendary American science fiction author Bruce Sterling, former Director of the US Peace Corps for Latin America Jose Velasco, fomer media chief of Amnesty International Richard Reoch, and top Czech economist Tomas Sedlacek.
Events usually take place at Prague College, and we try to time the presentations to guarantee a good mixture of students and visitors. Master Speaker events are open to all. free of charge, and refreshments are provided.
In October 2014, we are delighted to welcome Leon Jakimic, CEO of bespoke glass design firm Lasvit; and Darren Huston, CEO of the global hotel reservation website Booking.com.
