In the week of 25 to 28 March, Prague College held its annual job fair, the first event to take place in the context of our newly-formed Industry Network.

In the week of 25 to 28 March, Prague College held its annual job fair, the first event to take place in the context of our newly-formed Industry Network.  Following the first evening's lecture on the links between Higher Education and Finance from Professor Vladimir Dlouhy, the Job Fair kicked off in earnest with a day of seminars and talks from a number of speakers from education and industry.

Michelle Stott from SAP gave an invigorating keynote speech on how to enhance skills, self-develop, get the career you want, and succeed in the workplace, Theo Schwinke of Sourcefabric spoke about Open Source technologies, and Jo Weaver of JWA provided an insight into the world of PR and communications. Other speakers included Petra Stadlerova of PraguExpats, Mark Harrison of ACCEE and Adam Zaydlar of ACCA. In the afternoon, two of our alumni, Petr Marencik and Dima Strapchev, spoke of their experiences in the world of Art and Graphic Design, and the day ended with an illuminating talk from our lecturer Jeremiah Palecek on how to sell art online.

At Thursday's Professional Marketplace we were joined by a range of firms including  ACCA, ACCEE, Ariba, Concur, Raiffeisenbank, Sourcefabric and Traductera. Galleries represented included More than Religion, Galerie Svit and Jessica Serran. And on the final day, students presented their own goods and services at a colourful Entrepreneurs Day, where our guest Michaela Freeman spoke of the importance of both mental and spiritual preparation for doing business.

Many thanks to all involved in what was an exceptional week, helping to position our students for the world of work. Many companies have contacted us to tell us how much they enjoyed meeting our students, several of whom are now actively pursuing internships and possible employment.
