Planning the Final Show

by Lucia Ott, on Mar 22, 2018 10:30:31 AM

The BA Students of Prague College’s School of Art and Design are currently in the middle of their Final Projects. The young artists and designers have the opportunity to work on a project that reflects a very personal understanding of their work. With these projects in mind, the students have already started to plan their public Graduation Shows that will take place in May.

So how did the planning process start?  The first goal was to create an outstanding identity that represented the exhibition and all diverse projects on show. Students came up with a lot of ideas about what they wanted to communicate and how the posters and other materials might look.

Together they came up with concepts that also stressed the combination of the two exhibitions spread across two city venues. This year the Final Show starts with the BA (Hons) Graphic Design students' work in Bishop’s Court and continues with the exhibition of BA (Hons) Fine Art in Kasárna Karlín on the same evening. One thing is for sure - it will be a great event with a lot to discover!

Accordingly the students created the two following slogans: "From Design to Art in 11 Minutes" focuses on the journey from Bishop’s Court to Kasárna Karlín. The second one is inspired by the idea of sale and having two in one: "2 for the Price of 1".  Designs based on these headlines led to different visual approaches, and out of this pool of ideas, five final posters were chosen by the group. Here they are:
