Pavel Smetana is an Associate Lecturer in BA (Hons) Creative Media Production programme.
Since the early 1990s Pavel has experimented with digital interactive media and neurotechnology (BCI/ brain-computer interface), creating installations involving art and neuroscience research. He has directed multimedia performances, interconnecting science, contemporary dance, performance and game technologies.
Pavel worked as a professor and head of “Virtual Reality and 3D” at the Art Institute in Aix-en-Provence in France (Ecole d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence) and Director of the new media festival International Festival ENTERmultimediale in Prague. He was the Founder of CIANT (International Centre for Art and New Technologies in Prague) and curently Director of T.S.R.ACT (Technology Science Research in Art & Culture).
Pavel has an Advanced Master's of Arts from CNAM and a Master's of Fine Arts from l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris.
