Brian Kenety

brian_profile_small-1.jpgA contributing editor for Transitions magazine, Brian Kenety is a former Balkans stringer and EU correspondent for the Inter Press Service, Prague bureau chief for Interfax, and reporter for the Czech News Agency and Radio Prague.

Before moving to Europe, he worked in the UN bureau of Asahi Shimbun, Japan’s leading newspaper, and for several television programs (the Charlie Rose Show, in New York; and the ABC news affiliate WJLA-TV and Monitor Channel, both in Washington, D.C).

While stringing for IPS, an international features news agency, Brian covered the final days of the war in Kosovo and the refugee crisis in neighbouring Macedonia. As an EU correspondent, he travelled extensively throughout the bloc to cover EU summits and other high-profile events, as well as to Africa for parliamentary assemblies.

He holds a  BA in International Relations, American Foreign Policy, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

Brian has been teaching journalism (news writing) since 2010.
