A key part of the British system of university quality assurance and enhancement of the academic experience.

The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) from the UK states that:

"...institutions are responsible for the quality of the education they provide and ... they are responsible for the academic standards of the awards they offer. External examining provides one of the principle means for maintaining UK threshold academic standards within autonomous higher education institutions. External examining is therefore an integral and essential part of institutional quality assurance."

Prague College undergoes regular external examination in all programmes across the college. Teesside University programmes are subject to exactly the same processes and oversight by the same people who externally examine all Teesside University programmes around the world.

Pearson BTEC programmes undergo examination once or twice a year by independent External Examiners, who review HND and other Pearson programmes around the world.
