Pearson BTECs (Edexcel)
Prague College has been working with Pearson Education, the UK’s leading awarding body since 2005.
Pearson, known as Edexcel until 2013, is regulated by the UK government’s regulator Ofqual, and helps hundreds of thousands of students around the world to reach their educational and career aspirations each year. Pearson develops and awards both academic and vocational qualifications, including the Higher National Diploma (HND), A levels and a range of BTEC qualifications.
Prague College is approved and subject to regular external standards verification by Pearson to offer four accredited BTEC HND programmes in the Czech Republic. Pearson is the sole awarding body responsible for the development, assessment and quality monitoring of these highly respected programmes taught at universities and colleges in the UK and around the world.
Pearson BTEC HNDs are worth 240 UK Higher Education credits, equal to 120 ECTS credits, and are equivalent to the first two years of standard European Bachelors degrees. At Prague College students on Bachelors degree programmes study the first two years on the HND programme and enter their final year on the Teesside University degree.
Prague College also offers the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and several Certificate programmes that are part of our Foundation Diploma in Computing and Foundation Diploma in Business. We also offer a range of BTEC professional qualifications in both the School of Business and School of Media & IT.
External Standards Verifiers are an key part of the independent quality assurance process on all Pearson BTEC programmes. These external examiners monitor and visit the college on annual and bi-annual visits, and have consistently assessed Prague College HND programs at the highest possible level: 'strong delivery and assessment with areas of good practice, supported by a full functioning quality assurance system.'
