Italian Internships for PCU students

by Larissa Petryca, on 18 March 2024 14:29:23 CET

PCU has signed a five year internship agreement with Consorzio TerrAntica headquartered in the city of Bari (Italy) and the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Puglia. The agreement allows for PCU students to undertake a paid internship in the hospitality tourism sector for one to three months over the summer months in Puglia, Italy.

Internships

The internships are in English and includes training to help students who have an interest in hospitality and tourism enter into the sector. Interns will get a firsthand experience in the hotel industry, including catering services and related fields, while also learning Italian and gaining knowledge about Italian cuisine and wines. The internships offer full-time positions at 40 hours per week, including salaries, free accommodation, and meals. However, students must arrange and cover their own transportation to Bari and back.

Consorzio Terrantica

For over 10 years, Consorzio TerrAntica has been organising internships at partner hotels and resorts, with students from universities, tourism institutes and foreign training schools. The hotels and resorts offer students a chance to explore or confirm their career interests by providing them with an opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical experience, along with certification, that will enhance their resume.

Each internship is supported by an agreement between the promoter and the host company and by a training and orientation project. Throughout the internship, participants are assured of insurance coverage, educational support, and a certificate acknowledging their participation.

Starting this year and continuing through to 2028, the internship programme will be available to all students at PCU during each summer. For more information, students should reach out to the Dean of the School of Business, Dr. Stefano Cavagnetto.
