Jana Adamcova, MA

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

Jana currently works as an advisor to business owners, mainly in the fields of strategic management and communication.

 

From 2007 – 2010 she worked as advisor to the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and was a Supervisory Board Member of both the Czech Export Bank and the Export Guarantee & Insurance Corporation. She worked to ensure funding, promotion and due diligence on large scale international projects that involved the export of Czech products and services abroad. As trends, laws and governments change, Jana was also responsible for the planning and strategy of keeping Czech exporting laws and regulations current and relevant. Additionally, in her capacity as Advisor to the Deputy Minister, Jana and the export promotion department proposed and implemented most of the Czech financial crisis solution and management documents.

 

Jana also authored the first plan for the strategic promotion of the Czech Republic abroad from 2003-06, when she worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2007 Jana was made Director of Export Promotion for the Ministry of Industry & Trade. In this role she was responsible for the strategy of promotion of Czech trade and exhibitions internationally, including implementation of the branding strategy of the Czech Republic, managing development aid of the Czech Republic in the field of industry and trade, as well as the management of economic diplomacy; i.e. filling of economic councilor posts at Czech embassies around the world.


Anna Boguszakova, BA

Associate Lecturer | Academic Registrar | Prague College

Anna leads the student services department at Prague College with her multicultural and multilingual skills and knowledge where she advises students regarding their academic, cultural and personal issues. She has lived in three different countries - Czech Republic, Germany and USA - and her multicultural background enables her to bring a unique perspective to her roles and responsibilities within the college.

Anna graduated with a BSc in psychology from Worcester State College in Massachusetts, USA with a deep passion for the subject and is continuing her education to achieve a MSc in Business Psychology at Heriot-Watt University. In her lecturing she applies the knowledge gained from her studies to facilitate effective and stimulating learning and loves to share her knowledge of psychology and its application to multiple fields of study.

Anna teaches on the Access and HND Business programmes and she will also be introducing a Flow Yoga class at Prague College.

 


Paul Cooper, MA, LLB, Grad. Dip. Cont. Ed.

Associate Lecturer | School of Business | School of Art & Design | School of IT & Computing

Paul Cooper practised as a lawyer for 12 years in Melbourne before specializing in the continuing legal education of the Australian legal profession. He was also the Head of the Continuing Legal Education Department for the College of Law in Sydney Australia.


Paul earned his MA in Legal Linguistics from the Riga Graduate School of Law and his LL.B. from the University of Melbourne. In addition he has a Graduate Diploma of Continuing Education from the University of New England. He has also earned his CELTA, is an HND certified instructor and is an oral examiner for the Cambridge University, International  Legal  English Certificate.


He has lived in Prague since July 2003. At Prague College Paul has been teaching Personal Skills Development, Business Skills for Designers, and Professional Development classes on Access and HND programmes across the schools of Business, Art & Design and Computing.
Paul Cooper also delivers professional development seminars and workshops to Prague College lecturers.


Thomas Draper, BSc, MSc, PGCE

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

Thomas Draper has three different degree level qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) from Anglia Ruskin University in Rural Planning
  • MSc From Aberystwyth University, (which is part of the University of Wales) in Environmental Impact Assessment and
  • PGCE  (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) from the University of Greenwich.


Thomas initially worked in the Environmental Impact Assessment field, undertaking work for the Ministry of Agriculture in the UK for the economic audit of farm subsidies.

He also holds the ARLA qualification in Residential Management and his family owns a firm in this field in the UK.

Thomas has 10 years of teaching experience both in the UK in various schools and colleges and in Prague. He is a member of the Royal Society of Literature in London, he has recently become a father and is currently working on his third book of poetry.

 

 

 

 


Katarina Gibadulin, MA

Access Year & International Business Programme

Since graduating from Charles University Katarina has devoted herself full-time to foreign language education. As a teacher of English, Spanish and German, she has been deeply involved in teaching not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Thailand.  

Katarina has gained diverse experience from working as a senior English and Spanish teacher at one of the major language schools in Prague. Furthermore, she has been responsible for the Spanish curriculum at a private university in Prague.

Using multicultural approaches to teaching, Katarina has been an Access and International Business Programme lecturer for Prague College's School of Business since 2008.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Joel Imhoof

Associate Lecturer | International Business | HND Business | HND Computing

Joel Imhoof has worked in sales, public relations, and advertising both in the USA and in the Czech Republic. He is a founding partner of Language & Skills, a network of teachers focused on delivering high-end hard/soft skills seminars. These experiences have provided him with valuable insights into the art of poignant communication using a variety of creative methods- assets he now brings to bear as a teacher.


Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from the University of North Texas. He has studied abroad in both Guatemala and England and has been based in the Czech Republic for the last 9 years.


Joel is a certified Czech/English translator, a cautious rock climber, and a dismally land-locked SCUBA diver.

 

 


Larry Koch, MBA, CPA

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

Larry Koch combines experience as an educator with broad based work in public accounting and controllership. He was graduated in the United States with BBA and MBA degrees in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). His MBA education included additional work with a fellowship grant from the US Department of Education including a specialization in community college teaching and administration. Larry received an award for his accounting thesis from the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Accountants.


As an audit partner in a public accounting firm, Larry worked in both financial and tax matters including audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements as well as individual, partnership, corporate, estate and not-for-profit tax preparation and planning. Larry has participated in consulting engagements with the international client groups of Mitsubishi Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Nippon Filcon. 

In addition to Prague College, Larry has been a faculty member at Dallas Baptist University, Navarro College, North Harris County College and College of the Mainland.

Larry is active in international travel and various musical activities at the International School of Prague. He teaches Bookkeeping, Management Accounting and Financial Reporting at Prague College.

 


Felipe Martinez, Ind. Eng, MA, BA

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

Felipe Martinez received both his postgraduate and bachelors degrees in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He is now completing his PhD in Management at the University of Economics in Prague with his dissertation on Organizational Architecture.

Felipe has developed his business knowledge and experience in Colombia, Argentina, India and the Czech Republic through numerous consulting projects. He has lectured and trained at universities and companies in Argentina, Columbia, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Felipe Martinez lectures at Prague College in Managing Across Cultures on the MSc International Management programme.

 


Orbelinda Ortiz

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

Originally from Spain, Orbelinda graduated in English Language and Literature from Las Palmas University in 1999, before attained a postgraduate certificate in education at Granada University. Since then she has been teaching and working in media and translation.

Having worked in Dublin and London in many schools and private companies, she moved to Prague in 2008.

 

She has been a lecturer in Prague College since January 2009 in the Access Year Programme, teaching Business Vocabulary and Reading.

Julie O'Shea

Associate Lecturer | School of Business | School of Art & Design

Julie O'Shea teaches on the Access programmes for Business and Art & Design.

 

Originally from Northern California, Access Year lecturer Julie O'Shea arrived in Prague in the fall of 2006.
Having spent the last decade as a career journalist, Julie also works as an editor for a real estate journal in the center for Prague and proofreads cookbooks for a Dutch publishing house.

 

When she's not lecturing, Julie can usually be found in a neighborhood cafe or library, writing travel stories about the Golden City for various newspapers and magazines across Europe and the U.S.

 

 

 


David Petryca

Lecturer | School of IT&Computing | School of Business

David PetrycaDavid Petryca is a qualified Graphic Designer and has over 15 years experience in the advertising and media industry in Australia. Beginning his career as a print designer David has moved over to multimedia and web development with the advent of the new media and internet.


David's skills and experience range from graphic design and visual identity to coding highly optimised web pages using the latest technologies like XHTML and CSS. David has also advanced knowledge of Macromedia Flash MX, and web application technologies like PHP/MySQL.

David's personal interest lies in the information aspect of the internet, building websites that are not only visually appealing but also confirm to the latest standards of accessibility and user interface design.

 


 


Ing. David Podhola

Associate Lecturer | School of IT & Computing | School of Business

David graduated from Czech Technical University, Faculty of Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering. He started to work in IT professionally about 15 years ago. He started as a developer writing code in Delphi, Visual Basic, C#  and then became a team leader of developers.

That soon changed into consulting customers' needs and project/ account management. He found sales and marketing appealing and stayed with them till today doing the same under different position names. He is currently working as Business Development Manager in Sprinx Systems, LLC.

David teaches Networking Technology and End User Support at Prague College.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Mgr. Nela Pochova

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

Nela Pochova originally comes from the Ukraine, where she graduated with a degree in Philosophy from Kiev University in 1989 and completed postgraduate studies in modern art history at Charles University in Prague.

Nela has taught philosophy and the history of religion at many universities, but now devotes herself to languages.

Since 2006 she has been teaching and working at Prague College as a project coordinator and lecturer. 

As Nela has a native knowledge of Ukrainian, Russian, Czech and English language, she has been actively working as a translator and teacher. She also supports Prague College lecturers with their Czech language.

 

 


JUDr. Radim Polcak

Senior Visiting Lecturer | School of Business

Dr. Radim Polcak is the head of the Workgroup for Law and ICT at Faculty of Law, Masaryk University. He teaches various subjects in ICT law and legal theory at the Masaryk University Faculty of Law.

He is also a visiting lecturer at law schools in the Czech Republic, Austria, UK and Hungary. In addition, Dr. Polcak is the general chair of the annual international conference Cyberspace; editor-in-chief of the Masaryk University Journal of Law and Technology; and a member of editorial boards of legal journals in the Czech Republic and Hungary. He is a panelist at the .eu ADR arbitration court.

Radim has been contributing to Prague College with remarkable lectures and workshops concerning intellectual property in business, IT, art and design.

 


JUDr. Tomas Scerba

Senior Visiting Lecturer | School of Business

Tomas, being a senior visiting lecturer at Prague College, has been contributing to Prague College with innovative lectures and workshops concerning IT law, intellectual property in corporate relations, and business law.

Dr. Tomas Scerba is a graduate from the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. Tomas has been an associate with a premier Czech law firm in Prague, Pokorny, Wagner & Partner, and is currently finishing his PhD in the legal field of e-contracts. He mainly works in ICT and IP law, but also practices corporate and M&A law.

Tomas has gained his expert knowledge from participating in various international conferences throughout the world and through his study periods in Belgium, Holland and other European countries.

 

 


Mgr. Radka Spiesova

Associate Lecturer | School of Business

After working as a junior lawyer for a couple of years, Radka decided to change her path and started her media career at Radio Metropolis. Later on as Account Manager and PR consultant in Hauska & Partner agency, she led teams providing service to Kofola, Budweiser Budvar, Finep and many others, creating and executing PR strategies, focusing on crisis communication, media relations and corporate and product PR.

 

For four years Radka worked for Telefónica O2 Czech Republic (former Eurotel) as senior PR Specialist and deputy company spokesman.

 

Radka got her Masters degree in Law at Charles University. She also completed the LCCI Marketing examination Level 3 at Prague College and graduated from London School of Public Relations and Centre of Independent Journalism, where she focused on Radio Broadcasting.

Jorge Vacca, MBA, BA

Jorge Vacca came to the Czech Republic in 2001 from Columbia and has established himself as an outstanding manager across various industries in the region.

Jorge finished his Masters in Business Administration at DePaul University in Chicago and has completed professional development programmes in finance management, Prince 2 project management and  Lean Six Sigma.

Jorge currently holds an executive management role with the world's premier global delivery network and lectures on the MSc International Management programme at Prague College

Jim Willetts, BSc (Econ), GTP

Jim graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Economics and Management Studies.
 

His background has included significant periods working in Independent Financial Advising and brokering, and supply chain management in the food industry (with RHM plc) and automotive industry (with TI Automotive).

 
His interests include sustainable development, the built environment and business modeling. He also enjoys playing and coaching rugby and is always looking for new players (male or female!)

 
Jim has lived in Prague since 2006 and is currently undertaking a masters degree.

 

 


Kristine Zamastil

Senior Lecturer | School of Business

Dr. Zamastil earned her Ph.D. from the University of Denver and her J. D. from John Marshall Law School. Currently she is living in Prague, teaching law and business and running a short term study abroad program called the European Study Abroad Center. Dr. Zamastil is also actively pursuing research interests in legal issues in higher education.

Dr. Zamastil spent five years as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, Chicago while teaching part-time. In 1994, Dr. Zamastil moved to the Czech Republic as Visiting Lecturer at Charles University Law Faculty in Prague. Upon completion of the lectureship in Prague, Dr. Zamastil founded an International Training Centre, coordinated continuing legal education courses for Central and Eastern European lawyers on behalf of John Marshall Law School, and coached Moot Court competitions. In 1998, Dr. Zamastil relocated to Denver to teach international business, management, and law. After completing four years as an Associate Professor in a private university in Denver, she accepted a Visiting Professorship in Almaty, Kazakhstan. After living out of Europe for eight years, she says she is very happy to be back in higher education in Prague.
