Prague College was honored to host its second lecture in Master Speaker Series given by Dr. Pablo Guerrero on topic “Socialism of 21st Century in Latin America”.

Dr. Pablo Guerrero comes from legal background and was involved in high politics in Ecuador. He received Doctor of Jurisprudence from  "Universidad Central del Ecuador", Faculty of Law.  His lecture explained the lack of rule of law in Ecuador and the situation was compared to other European fascist and totalitarian theories. Various passages from the book including "Socialism of 21st Century," written by Hans Dietrich, discusses old Marxist dogma as the law of class struggle, and "The Value of Goodwill" theory was analyzed with a focus on strategy and geopolitics.

Prague College srdečně zve studenty i lektory na další přednášku z cyklu Master Speaker Series,

která proběhne dne 26.1. od 18 hodin.

The speech will explain the lack of rule of law in Ecuador and will focus on the so-called Socialism of 21st Century in Latin America. The situation will be compared to other European fascist and totalitarian theories. The speaker will analyse legal, political and philosophical aspects of the new Constitution of Ecuador,  a copy of the Venezuelan constitutional model led by Hugo Chavez. Various passages from the book entitled Socialism of 21st Century written by Hans Dietrich, who collects old Marxist dogma as the law of class struggle, and 'The Value of Goodwill' theory will be analysed with a focus on strategy and geopolitics. The lecture will also touch on Post-Cold War period and the risks of returning to a  bipolar world in which the protagonist are the Western World vs. Iran and the Bolivarian Alliance of Latin-American countries.

During January Prague College is organising special workshops with Dr. Stefano Cavagnetto, PhD. The three different areas of research will be explored and discussed with a supplement of activities. Workshops will be open to all students from the Prague College three faculties.

The first area will focus on literary semiotics and various schools which have developed their own approaches to literature.

The second workshop will focus on aesthetics and visual communication with a particular emphasis on four important areas of study: semiotics aesthetics, semantics of the aesthetics sign, pragmatics of the aesthetics semiosis and aesthetics codes.

The third area of research that will be explored in the third workshop is the semiotics of interfaces and in particular a formalised and systematic approach to the study of signs in computer systems.

Studenti a zaměstnanci Prague College uspořádali sbírku na podporu Dětského domova v Milovicích, kde jsou umístěny děti do 6 let věku. Tato sbírka se konala již podruhé a pro úspěšnost se Prague College rozhodla, že z této příjemné akce udělá každoroční tradici. Výběr věcných darů je pečlivě konzultován s paní ředitelkou
 dětského domova Petrou Černovskou.  Letos jsme dětem koupili audioknihy, tašky a další drobnosti, v loňském roce to byly hračky, které si děti samy vybraly. 
Dárky jsme předali osobně a měli tak možnost si s dětmi 
chvíli pohrát v jejich domácím prostředí, což nás i děti velice 
potěšilo.

Prague College přeje dětem i jejich vychovatelkám mnoho štěstí a pohody v roce 2012.

Stefano, many people know you as a lecturer, scholar and dedicated researcher in the areas of mathematics and philosophy. What has led you to study these subjects, and why did you choose to live in Prague?

Philosophy and mathematics have always been my interest and I have been attracted to these fields since I was very young. I decided to develop myself in these areas and combine my deep interest with a professional career. Why Prague? My first visit to Prague was the kind of story you have probably read or heard many times, and it is really nothing out of the ordinary. I first came to Prague as a tourist, a high school student, who was eager to explore Europe.
